ASRM Innovate Summit: A Masterclass in Connection and Curiosity
ASRM Inaugural INNOVATE
Date: November 14, 2025
Author: ASRM
The inaugural ASRM INNOVATE successfully illuminated the energy of innovation in reproductive medicine, and the life-changing impacts collaboration will have on the future of fertility and reproductive health.
“It was a masterclass in connection and curiosity,” says Innovate Co-Chair, John Petrozza, MD.
More than 240 leading clinicians, funders, founders, and entrepreneurs gathered for the groundbreaking two-day summit at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio on October 29-30, 2025.
Day 1 began with insightful and engaging presentations on topics such as disruption, sustainability, and innovation in ART, as well as the importance of innovation in women’s healthcare. The day also featured a trio of panel discussions that focused on transitioning from discovery to scale and the importance of leveraging past innovations to accelerate future ones.
Attendees, presenters, panelists, funders, and founders concluded the evening by catching up and making new connections during an energetic networking reception.
Day 2 began with the Innovate Mainstage, where Innovate Keynote Presenter, Dr. David Sable (Portfolio Manager, Conceivable Life Sciences), provided captivating insights on fulfilling the global promise of IVF. Next, attendees moved into one of the three interactive breakout sessions for funders, clinicians, or founders. Each breakout session offered unique insight into the core needs of each audience.
“The Q&A in the Clinical Breakout session exemplified the culture of access to experts. Whether through spontaneous networking or deep dives with thought leaders who welcomed every question — it was a vibrant exchange of ideas across embryology, surgery, clinical efficiency, and even social media strategy,” said Dr. Petrozza.
“As the leading society for reproductive medicine, ASRM is uniquely positioned to impact innovation in our field by creating platforms where ASRM members, founders, funders, and entrepreneurs can engage and drive innovation,” said ASRM CEO, Jared Robins, MD. “Our first innovation summit was a big step towards creating a space for engagement, cultivating enthusiasm, and outlining potential paths where reproductive healthcare professionals can engage on the front end of discovery and innovation.”
A highlight of the summit was the INNOVATE Pitch Tank Showcase. With over 100 Pitch Tank applications received, the top five finalists were selected to pitch their concept on the Mainstage. The audience cast the deciding vote, selecting EmGenisys, an AI-driven company that uses real-time video to evaluate embryo health, as the winner of the 2025 Pitch Tank Showcase and receiving a check for $10,000.
“Winning INNOVATE was extremely validating that the years of work we’ve invested in real-time embryo analysis can drive meaningful impact for IVF laboratories,” said EmGenisys founder and CEO Cara Wells, PhD. “It spurred the single largest wave of momentum of our company’s history.”
Other finalists were Level Zero Health, Minus80 Monitoring, No Pauze, and Overture Life.
ASRM is extremely grateful to its sponsors for their support of INNOVATE 2025.
- Innovate Mainstage Sponsor: Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
