Driving Progress in Advocacy, Education, and Research.

In 2024, ASRM led critical advocacy efforts, expanded educational resources, and advanced research funding to strengthen reproductive medicine. From responding to policy challenges and increasing access to care to awarding over $1.2 million in research grants and releasing high-impact practice documents, ASRM remained committed to its mission. The organization also expanded global partnerships, enhanced workforce development, and shaped its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan to better serve members. With strong collaborations, donor support, and strategic growth, ASRM continues to drive innovation and advocacy in reproductive healthcare worldwide.

2024 Highlights


A Mile-High Meeting

ASRM 2024 delivered an exciting and diverse program for Congress attendees, featuring a new global health track, specialized clinical sessions for Professional Groups, and the innovative Spotlight & Engagement Pavilion. The Congress also offered numerous networking opportunities, including the Society Social Hour, a dedicated networking lounge, and the President’s Gala. ASRM Academy

In 2024, ASRM Academy continued to expand, offering new and exciting features for members. Academy updated patient fact sheets and infographics and increased global access to education materials. By expanding the Career Pathway Program to include both medical students and students interested in a career in embryology and expanding the SPARK program to increase research collaboration, ASRM advanced workforce and career development opportunities. To guide the future of reproductive medicine, ASRM released 14 high-impact Practice documents, including ones in partnership with organizations such as AUA and ESHRE, and partnered with ECRI Guidelines Trust to enhance transparency and rigor in guideline development.

ASRM Research Institute

ASRM CPL: PRIMED Scholars Program

The inaugural cohort of the ASRM Center for Policy and Leadership (CPL)'s PRIMED (Preparing Experts in Reproductive Medicine to Engage Decisonmakers) advocacy training program achieved remarkable success. The diverse group, consisting of physicians, nurses, embryologists, and mental health professionals, underwent comprehensive education sessions facilitated by policy experts and ASRM leaders. Noteworthy moments included their participation as guests of the Senate Majority Leader, attendance at a press conference, and witnessing floor proceedings during a crucial vote on the Right to IVF Act.

Fighting for Reproductive Freedom in 2024

ASRM's Government Affairs Team launched a combined postcard writing, radio ad, and social media campaign in 10 states with ballot measures seeking to preserve reproductive freedoms. The measures passed in 7 of the 10 states. Additionally, ASRM signed on to 4 Amicus Briefs, 25 federal coalition letters, sent 39 letters to state officials. In Alabama, ASRM worked tirelessly in the wake of the Alabama Supreme Court's LePage v. Mobile Infirmary Clinic decision. To cut through misinformation on IVF, ASRM released a series of one-pagers. In California, ASRM worked alongside Equality CA, RESOLVE, and other fertility and advocacy groups to pass SB 729, bringing the number of Americans with a form of coverage for fertility treatments to 60 million. ASRM also released the first-ever ASRM IVF Scorecard, preparing members for the polls by providing comprehensive information on how all sitting members of Congress have historically voted on bills related to IVF, reproductive rights, and other causes important to ASRM's mission. Membership

To shape its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, ASRM conducted a comprehensive needs assessment of current and former members to identify the best ways to serve its membership and address gaps in member benefits. Released in 2024, the plan places a strong emphasis on member engagement through key objectives such as developing strategies to engage new and associate members, increasing accessibility and usage of educational materials, optimizing communication channels with members and stakeholders, and demonstrating member specific value to enhance satisfaction.

ASRM’s mission to advance the field of reproductive medicine is strengthened by the collaboration of its affiliated societies, professional groups, and special interest groups, with over half of ASRM members actively involved in these networks. This collective effort highlights the strength and diversity of our community, as reflected in key membership statistics.

Fertility and Sterility Family of Journals

F&S Reports, F&S Reviews, and F&S Science were all accepted into the Emerging Sources Citation Index and will receive their first Impact Factors in June 2025. Impact Factor for Fertility and Sterility was 6.6, ranking it 4 out of 136 in the Obstetrics and Gynecology category and 3 out of 39 in Reproductive Biology.

Additionally, seventeen Journal Club Global events were broadcast from locations around the globe, including Mexico, Australia, Turkey, France, and Argentina, and many meetings in the US, including ASRM, MRSi, PCRS, and the SREI Fellows Retreat. Events were conducted in three different languages, including English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Learn more about Fertility and Sterility

Advancing Growth Through Strategic Partnerships and Financial Stewardship

In 2024, ASRM strengthened partnerships and expanded industry engagement, surpassing previous years with exhibit and sponsorship revenue of $3.4 million at the Annual Congress & Expo. Industry participation in regional programs grew by 10%, and ASRM secured increased grant funding for research and philanthropy. In addition, ASRM secured continued growth in grant partners and sponsors for both the ASRM Research Awards and the President’s Gala, further supporting research and philanthropy. These accomplishments reflect ASRM’s ongoing commitment to fostering industry collaborations that drive innovation, research, and education in reproductive medicine.

2024 Fundraising Highlights

From January 2024 - December 2024, 2,077 unique donors contributed $1,101,500 to ASRM's mission. 

At the 2024 President's Gala, the auction and paddle raise contributed $37,473 to ASRM’s advocacy work and $99,096 to the ASRM Research Institute. Tickets, sponsorships, and table sales supported the ASRM Research Institute. These numbers brough this event to a total of $572,000 raised. 

Doctors for Fertility made a significant impact this year by contributing $100,000 to establish an endowment dedicated to training physicians and reproductive medicine professionals as advocates for policy issues. Additionally, NPG launched its educational scholarship campaign, successfully raising $2,608 to fund three $500 grants, enabling members to attend the ARM & NPG National meeting in March.
