Angela K. Lawson, PhD

Angela K. Lawson, PhD, owner of Dr. Lawson Consulting, PLLC, is a clinical and forensic psychologist with nearly two decades of dedication to reproductive mental health. A former Full Professor of ObGyn and Psychiatry at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Lawson now leads a private practice offering consultation and psychotherapy related to reproductive and other diverse mental health concerns. She also researches the psychological aspects of infertility and trauma and lectures nationally and internationally on these topics. She continues to teach as an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern and is widely recognized for her national and international lectures on infertility, trauma, and patient support.

Dr. Lawson has been an ASRM member for 17 years, joining in 2008 to expand her knowledge of reproductive medicine, engaging with colleagues across disciplines, and advocating for the emotional needs of fertility patients and the professionals who care for them. Since then, she has held numerous leadership roles within ASRM, including Chair of ASRM’s Global Health Committee, Past Chair of the MHPG Executive Committee, Past Chair of the LGBTQ SIG, and Past Chair of the MHPG Social Media Committee.

Her ASRM membership has opened doors to meaningful collaborations, enduring friendships, and continuous learning. She credits the Society with providing opportunities to share her work nationally and internationally and to advance conversations around the psychological aspects of infertility and trauma. Through her career, Dr. Lawson has honed skills in leadership, interdisciplinary communication, and advocacy, shaped by both her academic work and her deep involvement in ASRM.
