ASRM Lifetime Achievement Award
Each submission must include:
- A letter of nomination
- The nominee’s curriculum vitae, which should reflect the exceptional contributions of the nominee in research, service, and education
The recipient will be selected by the Executive Committee.
The recipient will be recognized as the ASRM Lifetime Achievement Awardee by presentation of a plaque at the ASRM Scientific Congress & Expo. In addition, the recipient will receive complimentary registration for the ASRM Scientific Congress.
Congratulations to the 2024 ASRM Lifetime Achievement Award Winner!
John E. Buster, MD
Through his work and expertise, he has made a substantial and lasting impact on the frontiers of REI research and the education of the academic and scientific communities. John will be presented this award at the ASRM President's Gala this October during the annual Scientific Congress and Expo in Denver, Colorado.
John attended Stanford University for his undergraduate work and earned both his medical degree and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, where he later completed fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and in fertility.
While working at the UCLA School of Medicine, he directed the research team that performed the first Ovum transfer from one woman to another, resulting in a live birth. Building upon John’s research, over 500,000 live births resulting from donor embryo transfers have been recorded. John continued to practice Medicine until his retirement in 2020 and happily lives with his partner, Victoria Hines, at Casa Dorinda.
