Recapping ASRM 2025
The ASRM 2025 Scientific Congress & Expo brought together nearly 6,000 professionals in reproductive medicine for a full week of learning, collaboration, and forward momentum. Under the leadership of ASRM 2024-2025 President Dr. Elizabeth Ginsburg, this year’s theme, Global Collaboration to Advance Reproductive Health, shaped both the tone and structure of the program. Sessions and activities highlighted how people worldwide face similar challenges in reproductive health and how shared ideas can lead to better outcomes for patients everywhere.
Setting the Tone
The meeting began with a weekend of postgraduate courses that provided attendees with an opportunity to develop skills in areas central to clinical and laboratory practice. These courses covered a range of topics and were developed by ASRM’s societies, professional groups, and special interest groups.
The 2025 ASRM President’s Gala took place Sunday night and, with 620 guests in attendance, was one of the social highlights of the week. It featured a silent auction, a red carpet with a livestream, and the honoring of Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Catherine Racowsky. In all, the gala raised $475,000 for the ASRM Research Institute. “We are so very thankful to the gala sponsors, table hosts, ticket purchasers, and those who bid in the silent auction and raised their paddles,” says Holly Hilton, ASRM’s Director of Charitable Giving.
Exploring New Research and Emerging Trends
The Congress officially began Monday morning with the Opening Ceremony, during which ASRM recognized leaders, researchers, educators, and emerging voices with its annual awards. Honorees represented many areas of impact, including laboratory excellence, compassionate clinical care, scientific achievement, teaching, and service to the field. Their work reflects the values that guide ASRM and the ongoing commitment to improving reproductive health for all.Following the Opening Ceremony, Congress programming commenced, featuring more than 250 speakers who presented on a vast array of topics, including environmental influences, public policy, clinical innovation, and health equity. Presenters shared work on how community conditions, climate, and smoke exposure, nutritional support, and access to care affect fertility and pregnancy outcomes. Others focused on the impact of technology and laboratory advancements, policy changes, ethics, and the role of advocacy in protecting and expanding access to treatment.
The Spotlight & Engagement Pavilion, returning from its debut in 2024, featured a combination of 947 abstract presentations, presented in oral, video, and poster formats. Spotlight presentations and daily conversations on research, clinical practice, and policy issues provided additional discussion opportunities. The Best of Fertility and Sterility, the PRIMED Advocacy Scholars Showcase, and partner-led sessions ensured steady activity in the pavilion throughout the meeting.
Energy and Innovation in the Expo Hall
The Expo Hall was one of the busiest parts of the Congress. Attendees spent time exploring new products, services, and technologies that are shaping reproductive medicine, and many took the opportunity to meet directly with partners who help support clinics and laboratories throughout the year.“Sharing the floor with the Who’s Who in fertility care was a fantastic opportunity for a young company attending its first ASRM [Meeting],” says Kevin Nemsick of Germitec. “We came away from the conference feeling like we are now an integral part of the reproductive medicine community.”
The ASRM Booth served as a central gathering point where members connected with ASRM teams, learned about educational opportunities, updated their membership information, and enjoyed activities that added energy to the experience.
“The ASRM Membership Team enjoyed getting to meet in-person with so many of the members we interact with virtually all year long. We love when members stop by the ASRM Booth in the Expo Hall to chat, and we got to do that with so many members this year!” said Dani Mosely ASRM Director of Member Services.
Nearby, the Networking Lounge provided a comfortable space to take a break, recharge, or engage in informal conversations. Throughout the week, the hall remained active, providing a valuable space for learning, discovery, and collaboration.
Looking Ahead
The 2025 Congress emphasized the importance of learning from one another and collaborating to address the challenges facing reproductive medicine today. It highlighted how collaboration, both within the United States and globally, can drive progress and help ensure that people everywhere receive high-quality, compassionate, and equitable reproductive care. What attendees experience onsite is only the final chapter of a much longer story. Congress is built over many months through the work of ASRM staff and volunteer leaders who design the program, review abstracts, coordinate exhibitors, and manage the details that make the meeting flow. Their work reflects the same spirit of collaboration and dedication that defines the reproductive medicine community, and their behind-the-scenes efforts help create an environment where learning and connection can thrive.
