Dr. Maria Bustillo recently accepted the inaugural Distinguished Service Award at the 2015 Annual Meeting in Baltimore. 

About the ASRM Women's Council Distinguished Service Award 

  • To honor outstanding service by member of the Women's Council who have made important contributions in promoting women's health or career development for women, stimulating interaction across disciplines, fostering networking and/or mentoring efforts, or encouraging and/or supporting women within the community within their chosen field in support of the Women's Council mission.
  • Awardee must have provided service or taken action to significantly advance the mission of the Women's Council within ASRM for a number of years.
  • Must be a current or previously active member of the Women's Council.
  • Cannot be a current Executive Committee member, or have served as chair of the Women's Council within the last two years.
  • The committee will select one (1) awardee annually, chosen by simple majority vote.
About the ASRM Women's Council Special Achievement Award 
  • To recognize a special achievement in promoting the mission of the Women’s Council. This award need not be presented every year, but only when extraordinary service is rendered to the Council and its ability to fulfill its mission. The description is intentionally vague in order to not preclude any unanticipated opportunities. 
  • Awardee must be a current or previously active member of the ASRM Women’s Council 
  • Cannot be a current Executive Committee member 
  • The award will be presented only at the committee’s discretion, and is not considered an annual award 
  • The award can only be presented after a unanimous vote of both the Awards sub-committee and the ASRM Women’s Council Executive Committee.

Nominations are currently being taken for a recipient of the 2016 awards, which will be presented at the upcoming meeting in Salt Lake City. Please submit your nominations through this survey. For questions or comments, email Chair, Dr. Kelly Pagidas.
