Think Tank Releases Paper on ART and the Law
Today, the Center for American Progress released a new report, “Future Choices: Assisted Reproductive Technologies and the Law,” by Jessica Arons, Director of the Center’s Women’s Health and Human Rights Program.
The report provides an overview of assisted reproduction followed by an examination of three areas about which courts and legislatures have spoken: health insurance coverage, embryo disposition, and parentage determination. The policy implications of judicial decisions and current laws are discussed and options for future progressive policy development are explored in the report.
