Contact Your Senators, Urge Increased NIH Funding
Senators Specter and Harkin will offer an amendment to the FY 2009 Budget Resolution (S. Con.Res. 70) to increase NIH by $2.1 billion. The Budget Resolution approved by the Senate Budget Committee on Thursday includes a $950 million increase. The Specter-Harkin amendment would bring the total increase for NIH to $3 billion.
If you have a few minutes, we ask you to contact your senators immediately to support the Specter-Harkin amendment. The Senate is scheduled to begin debate on the budget resolution today at 3 p.m.
