David Adamson, MD Becomes President Of 
The American Society For Reproductive Medicine

Washington, DC- This morning at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, David Adamson, MD took office as President of the Society.

Dr. Adamson is a sought-after clinician and researcher. He is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist, surgeon, and Director of Fertility Physicians of Northern California, in San Francisco and Palo Alto in addition to serving as Clinical Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine.

Dr. Adamson received his medical degree and was a resident at the University of Toronto and completed fellowships in reproductive endocrinology, infertility, and surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, the AmericanCollege of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the AmericanCollege of Surgeons. He has been an advisor the National Institutes of Health, published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles, book chapters and textbooks and lectured extensively on reproductive medicine and surgery, endometriosis, assisted reproductive technology and infertility.

A Past-President of the AAGL (formerly the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists), the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), the Society for Reproductive Surgeons, and other professional societies, Dr. Adamson has worked hard to advance the interests of the profession. 

He is particularly interested in international and patients’ issues, serving on the Boards of the International Federation of Fertility Societies and the World Endometriosis Research Foundation, as the Secretary-Treasurer of the International Committee Monitoring ART, and on the Board and Executive Committee of National Resolve, the national consumer fertility organization, for 10 years.

In 2006, he received the Outstanding Achievement in Medicine Award from the Santa Clara County Medical Society and a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for outstanding and invaluable service to the community.

ASRM Executive Director, Robert Rebar, MD, said, “We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Adamson serve as our President. He is accomplished, tireless and dedicated to increasing opportunities for our members to learn from each other in order to advance our field.”



The American Society for Reproductive Medicine, founded in 1944, is an organization of more than 8,000 physicians, researchers, nurses, technicians, and other professionals dedicated to advancing knowledge and expertise in reproductive biology. Affiliated societies include the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, The Society for Male Reproduction and Urology, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons.
