Being a member of ASRM gave me a sense of belonging to a society that cares about reproductive medicine and provided resources to help me become the best reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist.

In addition to being the REI Division and Fellowship Program Director at the University of South Florida, Dr. Imudia is one of the physicians’ partners of Shady Grove Fertility, Tampa Bay. He has earned many research and teaching awards, produced numerous peer reviewed publications and has given international and national presentations in REI and Reproductive Surgeries. An ASRM member since 2008, he has served as a member of the SART Research Committee, a member of the SRS Video Review Committee, Site Director and Member of the SRS Surgical Scholars Track Fellowship Committee, and the SRS Representative on the ASRM Membership Committee. He has attended every annual meeting since and has presented an abstract at most. From support and career direction as a fellow, to growing his professional network with affiliates, professional groups, and special interest groups, Dr. Imudia has found immense support within ASRM.

For career advice, Dr. Imudia recommends doing what you enjoy the most and finding a way to incorporate your passions into your practice. "If you are driven by reproductive surgery and good at it, you must find a way to incorporate this into your practice. If you enjoy teaching, you must find a way to be affiliated with a program with residents and fellows so you can participate in graduate medical education. Whatever scope of practice you embark on, you must be the best and the authority by staying up to date and relevant in that area. Challenge yourself to be better and be your patient best advocate."
