The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology has developed guidelines for learning for the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). These guidelines specify that training should include information that provides the fellow with the ability to discuss the nature, application, and methodology of hormone assays in reproductive endocrinology. This internet activity is designed to provide such training to reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellows as well as other practitioners of reproductive medicine.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
- List basic characteristics of RNA and DNA.
- Comprehend the principles of nucleic acid isolation, electrophoresis and blotting.
- Appreciate the basis for PCR.
- Discuss the molecular techniques used for PGS and PGD.
- Realize the potential of CRISPR.
