Grand Rounds: Assisted Reproductive Technology - What Does the Future Hold
Presented by Richard T. Scott, Jr., M.D., Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University
The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology has developed guidelines for learning for the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). These guidelines specify that training in this subspecialty should include training concerning assisted reproductive technology (ART). This live internet activity is designed to provide such training to reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellows as well as other practitioners of reproductive medicine. The activity will consist of a didactic presentation followed by a question and answer session.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe areas of active investigation in ART
- List the potential impact of new technologies which are being developed for application in ART
- Describe potential technologies and screening tests which may expand the population of patients seeking ART to assist with family building.
