Diversifying Reproductive Medicine: Recommendations From the ASRM Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force
PanelistsGloria Richard-Davis MD, MBA
Dr. Richard-Davis is a is a tenured professor, board certified reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist and serves as Director, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She also is Executive Director of the UAMS Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion where she leads efforts to diversify the healthcare workforce. She founded the ASRM Health Disparities Special Interest Group (HDSIG) in 2004 and continues to be very involved in health disparities research. She serves as Chair, Subgroup 1, of the ASRM DEI Task Force.
T. Arthur Chang PhD, HCLD
Dr. Chang is an Associate Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Department of OB/GYN, at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and Director of Clinical Assisted Reproductive Technology Laboratories at UT Health Women’s Health Center, San Antonio, TX. He is a certified High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD), Embryology Laboratory Director (ELD), and Clinical Consultant (CC). He has been very active in clinical laboratory research, teaching, quality management and business/technology consulting. Dr. Chang is a member of the ASRM DEI Task Force.
Michelle Vu, MD
Dr. Vu is an OB/GYN Resident at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She is passionate about diversifying resident education and cultivating new opportunities for her peers in the field of REI.
Michael Simoni, MD
Dr. Simoni is a Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania/Penn Fertility Care.
ModeratorMichael Thomas, MD
Dr. Thomas is Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He has been named one of the Best Doctors in America for nine consecutive years, an honor bestowed on four percent of physicians in the United States. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and was a resident at Wayne State University in Detroit. Dr. Thomas completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is Chair of the ASRM DEI Task Force and Vice President of ASRM.
