The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) announced that to date, it has provided more than $500,000 worth of free education to its members via its airLEARNINGtm program. ASRM has made its certification courses available free of charge to all members during the global COVID-19 shut down. The Society offers certificate courses in andrology, embryology, nursing and mental health.
Since the offer was first made on March 26th more than 1,000 ASRM members have enrolled in certificate courses. The embryology course has been the most popular with more than 500 participants, followed by the nursing course with 344 signed up, andrology with 119 participants, and the mental health courses with 91.
“We recognized that the COVID-19 shutdown is creating financial pressures for our members and wanted to do something to help. We also realized that one resource people might have more of during this period is time and, knowing our members, we believed they would want to put this to good use. We are delighted that so many of our members are choosing to use this time to improve their skills by accessing ASRM resources.” Says Catherine Racowsky, PhD ASRM President.
