Research presented by David McLernon, PhD, from the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK, extracted linked fresh and frozen cycle data on women who underwent IVF in 2014-2016 from the SART Clinic Outcome Reporting System database.
Of 79,512 women who underwent 103,270 complete cycles, 46.3% had a live birth from the first complete cycle, and cumulatively, 55.6% had a live birth over three complete cycles.
“The SART Predictor Tool is a freely available resource for both patients and clinicians to help effectively manage the expectations of assisted reproductive therapy,” said Valerie Bake,r MD, SART President. “We hope that this latest research describing the SART Patient Predictor will provide individualized chances of success to help couples prepare emotionally and financially.”
The SART Predictor Tool also allows the patient to enter her antimüllerian hormone level (AMH), which is a predictor of response to ovarian stimulation. Recent research reporting cumulative live birth rate (CLBR) by assessing outcomes of all linked fresh and/or frozen embryo transfer cycles in 2014 to 2016 found that AMH is highly correlated with CLBR in women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) independent of age.
“Using AMH in current age-based prognostication counseling provides more informative and personalized CLBR prediction,” said Amy Sparks, PhD, SART Past President. “With the addition of individualized AMH assessment, the SART Predictor Tool continues to provide patients, clinicians and researchers in assisted reproductive therapy the most relevant and timely data.”
