ASRM Remembers Charles B. Hammond, MD

It is with sincere sadness that ASRM has learned of the passing of Dr. Charles Hammond on February 1, 2021. A Past President of ASRM (1985) and giant in the field of reproductive medicine, Dr. Hammond leaves a legacy.

FDA Updates Information for HCT/P Establishments Regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued updated information for facilities and medical professionals handling human cell, tissue, or cellular or tissue-based products (HCT/P) with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic, and now, the COVID-19 vaccines. The FDA emphasizes that there have been no reported cases of transmission of COVID-19 via human cell, tissue, or cellular, or tissue-based products.

Telehealth Coding Extension and 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule

Effective January 11, 2021, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Secretary Azar has extended the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) declaration effective Jan. 21, 2021 for an additional 90 days. This means that all of the telehealth and other waivers and flexibilities that have been implemented during the PHE will remain in effect until at least April 21, 2021.
