ASRM Applauds Passage of Reproductive Rights Ballot Measures in 7 States
November 6, 2024
For immediate release
Voters in Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, New York, and Nevada all passed ballot measures to protect and enshrine access to reproductive medical services. They join voters in six additional states that passed similar protections in earlier elections. Measures in South Dakota and Nebraska fell just short of obtaining majority support, and in Florida, the measure failed despite obtaining nearly 58% approval.
“Since 2022, ASRM has consistently supported pro-reproductive rights ballot measures and has 11 wins in a total of 13 states where measures have been voted upon. When given a chance, American voters will clearly vote to ensure that anti-choice ideologues cannot impose their minority views on other Americans,” said Sean Tipton, Chief Advocacy and Policy Officer.
Tipton added, “We are prepared for and look forward to a productive 2025 working with Congress, state legislatures, and other officials throughout the country to ensure all Americans have access to the care they need.”
