On behalf of Dr. Michael Diamond, chair of ASRM's Environment and Reproduction Special Interest Group, ASRM encourages its members to consider applying for the Reach the Decision Makers training fellowship program hosted by the University California, San Francisco. Applications are due August 9, 2013

The Reach the Decision Makers is a program of the UCSF Program for Reproductive Health and the Environment (PRHE). PRHE's mission is to create a healthier environment for human reproduction and child development through advancing scientific inquiry, clinical care and health policies that prevent exposures to harmful chemicals in our environment. PRHE applies respected scientific expertise to answer complex environmental health-related questions and to develop science-based policy strategies.

The Reach the Decision Makers Fellowship trains scientists, community groups and health care providers to effectively promote science and health-based policies at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Fellows include local, state, and national advocates. Through their involvement, fellows gain a better understanding of the underlying science linking environmental contaminants to reproductive harm and build their skills for shaping environmental health policy at the national level. As part of the project, fellows visit the EPA office in Washington, D.C. to learn more about the agency’s activities and to share their perspectives on environmental reproductive health science and policy.

This one-year training program is made possible through a grant from the Kresge Foundation. Costs associated with the program (travel, housing, food, teleconference costs) will be covered by the program and each fellow will receive a $500 stipend for participating. Please see the application at for exact dates of in-person and webinar training.

Informational conference calls about the program will be held:
