General Questions

  1. How do I access ASRM eLearn®?
    Go to the ASRM homepage http://www.asrm.org/ and select the ASRM eLearn® button at the top right of the screen.

    Or, use the Resources tab and scroll to ASRM eLearn®. Click on the eLearning Catalog link for a list of current continuing education activities.

  2. What types of online educational activities are available?


    A variety of topics related to reproductive medicine are available online for practicing physicians and allied healthcare professionals.  The full listing is available in the eLearning Catalog. Go to the ASRM homepage  http://www.asrm.org/  and select the ASRM eLearn® button at the top right of the screen. Or use the Resources tab and scroll to ASRM eLearn®. Select the eLearning Catalog for a list of continuing education activities.

  3. What is the cost for an ASRM eLearn® course?

    Prices vary depending on the course and the amount of continuing education credits available. For example, a one-hour CME activity costs $25.00 for ASRM members and $35.00 for non- members.

  4.  Which Internet browsers work with ASRM eLearn®

    Please use Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox for best results. You may need to download an updated version of the browser.  Currently, not all features of the system are compatible with other browsers.  Note to Mac users: please use Firefox as Safari is not supported. Note that some features may not work on protected computers such as in libraries or institutional systems.

  5.  What computer equipment do I need to use ASRM eLearn®?

    ASRM eLearn® is compatible with PCs and Mac computers. You should have high-speed Internet access and a speaker system. You should also have Adobe Reader 9 software installed on your system. This is a free program available from http://get.adobe.com/reader/ 

  6. How do I get help if I have trouble with ASRM eLearn®?

Continuing Education Credits

  1. What types of continuing education credits are available?
    Continuing education credits vary depending on the activity and your credentials.  The type of credits available will display in the Course Overview.  Generally, CME credits are available to practicing physicians.  Non-physician CME credits are available to any learner.  Nursing credits from the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health are available to RNs and Nurse Practitioners.  PEER credits are available for ABB Diplomates and Certificants.  OB-GYN residents, fellows and residency program directors in recognized CREOG training programs may receive credits for designated Resident Education courses.  A non-credit Certificate of Completion is available for most courses.

  2. I am not a member of ASRM.  Can I take a course?
    Yes, you can register to take courses as a non-member.  However, ASRM members receive discounted pricing for online education along with other valuable benefits. 

  3.  I am not a physician, but can use CME credits for credit with my certifying organization.  What courses are available to non-physicians?
    All CME courses also offer Non-physician CME credits.

  4. I am an OB-GYN Resident.  What courses can I take?
    OB-GYN Residents and Residency Directors can take the RES-series courses at no charge.

  5. What is the Nurse Certificate Course?  Who can take it?
    The Nurse Certificate Course in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility is a 16-module series designed for registered nurses and nurse practitioners who meet the following criteria: hold a current, active nursing license in a state or territory of the United States or the professional, legally recognized equivalent in another country, and have a minimum of 2000 hours of experience as a registered professional nurse and a minimum of 1000 hours in women's health.  Nurses who successfully complete the Nurse Certificate Course and pass the Post-Exam receive a certificate and 16 hours of nursing continuing education credit from the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, including 2.75 pharmacology credit hours.  Note that the course confers a certificate, not certification, and a pin is awarded by the Nurses’ Professional Group for successful completion.

  6. I don’t meet the criteria to take the Nurse Certificate Course.  Can I still take these courses?
    Each module from the Nurse Certificate Course is available as an individual course and can be registered for separately.  Other healthcare professionals may take the Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Technology Course (MD047), which provides a certificate of completion and Non-Physician CME credits.

Registering For A Course

  1. How do I register for a course?

    Log in with your ASRM web ID and password.  ASRM members receive discounted pricing for online educational activities.

    Click on the ASRM eLearn® button at the top right navigation bar on the ASRM homepage http://www.asrm.org/.   From the eLearning Catalog, click on a course for more information.


    At the top or bottom of the course information page, click Register for Course. Follow the instructions for registration and payment.

Taking A Course

  1. How do I start a course?
    Once you have registered for a course, go to your My Info page and scroll to My Educational Activities.  Click My Learning.  Click on the Go link next to the Course you want to start.

  2. How many times can I take the Pre-Exam?
    The Pre-Exam can be taken only one time for each course.  You can view your Pre-Exam results, showing the questions and your answers, including which you answered correctly or incorrectly.  Exam questions are included in the Syllabus.

  3. How many times can I take the Post-Exam?
    You have a maximum of 2 attempts to pass the Post-Exam with a score 70% or higher.  If you do not score at least 70% in these 2 attempts, a grade of Fail is registered in My Learning

  4. Can I see which questions I answered correctly/incorrectly?
    Once you have completed the Pre-exam or Post-exam, you will have an opportunity to view your responses and see the questions that were answered correctly or incorrectly.  You may also print this page.

  5. What happens if I fail a course?
    If you do not score 70% or higher in the 2 attempts allowed for the Post-Exam, a grade of Fail is registered in My Learning.  You may re-register, and pay to take this course again if you wish.

  6. Why can’t I take the Survey?
    This Error message indicates you have not completed all the items in the Course.

    Please be sure that you have accessed and completed all components of a course in the left Navigation Bar. Once each has been accessed, you can progress to the Survey and complete the course.  Click and open EACH item, including the instructions for exams, then click Survey at the bottom Left of your Screen.

Transcripts And Certificates

  1. What types of continuing education credits are available?

    Your certificate can be printed following successful completion of a course and will include the course title, date, accrediting body, and credits awarded.   Learners must complete all elements of a course, including the Survey to finish a course and generate a certificate.  Access and complete all components of a course in the left Navigation Bar.  Click and open EACH item, then click Survey at the bottom Left of your Screen.

     

    To get a certificate immediately after finishing a course:

    • Click Exit Course in the top right of your browser window.
    •  Wait approximately 2 minutes for the system to process your completed course. 
    • You may need to refresh your browser window for the course to move to the Completed Tab
    • Click  Print a Certificate.

    To print a certificate at a later date:

  4. I have taken several online courses.  How do I get a transcript listing my courses?
    On your ASRM homepage, go to My Educational Activities. Under the heading Continuing Education Credits select View All, View By Date, or View By Credit Type

Error Messages And Technical Problems

Registration Error Messages

  • You are not eligible to take this course  – Some courses, such as Resident Education and the Nurse Certificate Course, are open only to those who meet the specified criteria for those courses.  Similar courses are often available that do not require meeting these criteria.

  • Access is denied

    If this message appears during a course, please be sure that you have accessed and completed all components of a course in the left Navigation Bar.  Once each has been accessed, you can progress to the Survey and complete the course.  Click and open EACH item, then click Survey at the bottom Left of your Screen.

Technical Problems 

  • I can’t view the Lesson.
    Be sure you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser.  Other browsers are not compatible with all features of the course.

  • The pre-exam will not advance.
    Be sure you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser.  Other browsers are not compatible with all features of the course. 

  • I can’t see the Survey button on the screen.
    This feature may be disabled if you are using a protected computer in an institutional system. You will need to complete your Survey using another non-protected computer.

  • I cannot print my certificate.
    Your certificate can be printed following successful completion of a course and will include the course title, date, accrediting body, and credits awarded.   Learners must complete all elements of a course, including the Survey to finish a course and generate a certificate.  Access and complete all components of a course in the left Navigation Bar.  Click and open EACH item, then click Survey at the bottom Left of your Screen.

  • I completed the course but it doesn’t show up in the Course Table.
    It may be that you have not completed the Survey at the end of the course. Please be sure that you have accessed and completed all components of a course in the left Navigation Bar.   Once each has been accessed, you can progress to the Survey and complete the course.  Click and open EACH item, including the instructions for exams, then click Survey at the bottom Left of your Screen.
    Once you have completed the Survey:

    • Click Exit Course in the top right of your browser window.
    • Wait approximately 2 minutes for the system to process your completed course. 
    • You may need to refresh your browser window for the course to move to the Completed Tab. 
    • Click  Print a Certificate.
