Challenges and Opportunities for Stem Cell Based Therapies
Needs Assessment and Description
Stem cells containing known mutations that cause
hereditary disease provide an invaluable opportunity
to probe the mechanisms of disease and discover new
therapies to treat and prevent disease. This symposium for
clinicians and scientists will assess the progress in stem cell
research and identify promising targets for future stem cell
research.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this symposium, participants should be
able to:
- Describe the process of generating stem cell lines
carrying genetic mutations and using those lines to study
the molecular mechanisms of hereditary disease.
